1/ What were your plans to create an effective Radio podcast that will present and promote your chosen band to its existing audience and attract new listeners?
My plan was too to use the audio from our groups TV interview recording and pick the more important or clearer questions that flowed better one after the other that people would be interested in. Examples are about “what to expect in their future gigs” and “who they got inspiration from”
2/ What audio problems did you accouter during the production and post/production process?
A problem that I encountered during recording the audio was that some people were talking too close to the mic so it made some popping sounds. I fixed most of these by using some audio effects and playing around with the audio levels. Another problem I encountered was that the clapper board broke during production so finding the correct audio files to use was trial and error but was fine once located.
3/ What continence plan did you have in place to prevent audio problems?
A plan I had to prevent audio problems was to firstly test the audio levels before recording anything. This was done by using headphones to test the audio levels and tweak them if necessary. Another plan was too use the audio from the camera that was recording the visuals as well, but that was a back up plan if the mic audio was completely unusable which it wasn’t so this plan never came into affect.
4/ How effective were solutions to audio-based problems at the end of your creative media project?
The effectiveness of the results used to fix the audio problems were pretty good. The audio effects used to correct the popping sounds and tweaking the audio levels worked really well and made the end product sound really good.
5/ What audio skills have you learned during this project and how can you develop them further for your FMP.
I have learnt the importance of getting the correct distance away from the mic to prevent any annoying, little sounds as well as preventing background noises. We used a zoom hand held microphone for our groups project and for my final major project I plan on using a clip on mic. The reason behind this is because it can be put on the perfect distance away from the mouth and can be clearer.
1/ What were you plans to create an effective ‘promotional video’ that will present and promote your chosen band to its existing audience and attract new viewers?
Our plans to create a promotional video was too have a two person shot interview with the main camera focus on the band group when they answer questions. The questions were written to appeal to a new audience that would be interested in their genre of music as well as have a sample of their music and them playing in the video to get the viewers attention.
2/ What visual problems did you accouter during the production and post -production process?
We encountered a few problems as a group. Firstly, the camera we were using to record didnt have enough memory to store the whole interview so we were limited to time and takes. Another problem we encountered was that during the production time, our group only had a limited amount of time to interview the band so we couldnt of done that many takes. The final problem I personally encountered as that the editing software to use to edit the visual interview was not working and I had a limited resources I could use after a lot of trying to fix it as well as trying different ways and locations of editing.
3/ What continence plan did you have in place to prevent visual – based problems?
A plan was to use editing software at home to edit the visual interview however that also didnt work due to technical problems. The issue was then semi-resolved when the editing software on my college account was tampered with by the IT department to help fix the problem but this eventually happened only a couple of days before the deadline.
4/ How effective were solutions to visual-based problems at the end of your creative media project?
The effectiveness of the back up plans were fine. I feel that if I had more time and less singular problems when it came to editing this interview, it would have gone a lot better. As for the recording part of the problems due to limited memory on the cameras and limit time, the only solution was to make the most of what we had as we couldn’t interview them again due to them being out of the county. However even though this was a issue, the end result of the visual edit was decent, even though I know if I had less technical issues I could of done a lot better.
5/ What visual based skills have you learned during this project and how can you develop them further for your FMP?
I have learnt the importance of having more memory for cameras as it really affected the end result. For the future major project I will have more and larger memory cards for the camera to switch between.
1/ What were you plans to create an effective ‘interactive platform’ that will present and promote your chosen band to its existing audience and attract new audience?
My plan to create an interactive platform was too have a news/newspaper style layout with links to the bands social media. At the top is where the visual interview would be located and at the bottom is where the audio interview would be. Also in the text to help break it up would be an image or two that relates to the topic being spoken about.
2/ What interactive –based problems did you accouter during the production and post -production process of your creative project ?
The only problem that was encountered for the interactive platform was that I wasn’t sure on how to post a radio link to play once clicked. However this was fixed once I uploaded the MP3 file to the website “SoundCloud” and posted the audio that way which worked well.
3/ What continence plan did you have in place to prevent interactive– based problems?
The plan was if the audio review wouldn’t get posted on there was too instead upload the audio onto Youtube, which did would for the visual interview, but have a still image of the bands logo on so it was still just audio and not a video. This plan however was not needed to execute.
4/ How effective were solutions to interactive -based problems at the end of your creative media project.
The issues would of been resolved quite simply if they were needed due to past experience. However because they were not needed there is nothing to comment on.
5/ What interactive based skills have you learned during this project and how can you develop them further for your FMP?
I have learnt the correct ways to share links on a interactive platform. I now know the correct way to layout the artical as well that will be easy to read and effective on most media devises such as computers, tablets and mobiles. I also know what to include on these articals such as where to place advertisements in empty space, what things belong where such as videos and images and the type of text to use in an artical to grab peoples attention and link them to the spoken topic for more further details. I plan to use these skills on my final major project.
